Attraction - Is The Law of Attraction Cheating?
Occasionally I'll hear f5B4rom a reader who's worried that all this Law of Attracting stuff is somehow unfair to others. If you can do this and others can't (or won't) then isn't it taking advantage of your superior knowledge?
Let me say, right off the bat, that a question like this sounds more like guilt than it does ethics or morality. Here's why.
People all around us constantly have (and use) personal advantages, and nobody accuses them of being unfair.
Taller athletes tend to have an advantage in basketball, but no one objects. In fact, coaches are always on the lookout for more tall and talented young players to make their team stronger.
People with better vision, steadier nerves and quicker judgment have an advantage when applying for jobs as airline pilots. Is it unfair to refuse applicants who have vision problems? Remember, your safety and mine can depend on the special qualities that pilots bring to the job.
Those who have a talent for incisive thinking, accurate observation skills and meticulous record keeping make the best researchers. Is it unfair that universities favor them over people whose thinking is shallow, or who have sloppy, careless work habits?
Our entire world is based on specialization. We choose people for their personal characteristics and put them to work where they'll be most effective. So there's not a thing wrong with using your personal strengths to build a successful life. In virtually every ca5B4se, we see this system producing greater value for the customers being served. Those customers receive the best services and products because the most able people are performing the job.
But if the opposite happens, if we find LESS competent people filling jobs, we can always expect to find much lower customer satisfaction.
So all this stuff about unfairness is usually a smokescreen to hide other issues. In this case it's usually to cover guilt, insecurity or low self worth -- a reluctance to accept the good things we want (but feel we must not allow ourselves to have).
If at any time you begin feeling that this Law of Attraction stuff "may not be exactly fair to others," please just recognize it for what it is. Your old thinking habits are trying to cheat you out of your terrific new life by telling you that you're simply not good enough, not deserving enough, and that furthermore, you're not being fair to others.
It's baloney -- ignore it.
