A Time To Detach

So tell me, what is it you really want? Is it a new car, or to start your own business? Do you want to meet your ideal mate, or simply improve your social life? Do you have a health concern you'd like to see disappear? Whatever it is you want, good for you! Wanting is the first step to manifesting what you desire. That said (and as I sometimes say to clients), Law of Attraction is not the 'Make-A-Wish Foundation'. While attraction isn't hard work, it's takes more than closing your eyes and blowing out the candles.

Ok, so you've determined what you want, now what? Next, you have to believe what you want is possible, that you deserve it, and that it's already yours - even though it hasn't yet shown up in your physical reality. Can you do that? For many people, it's the most difficult piece of the puzzle. Often, this is the point when all your limiting beliefs turn out for the party - eating away at your positive vibrations - and ultimately putting the kibosh on your receiving what you want.

But let's say you've also got the believing deal down - you 100%, wholeheartedly believe that your desire is already en route. Game over, it's yours, right? Not quite. You're almost home, there's just one more step - technically the easiest of all - yet it's the step that often trips people up right before they stand to reach paydirt.

Esther and Jerry Hicks call it 'Allowing'. "The Secret" calls it 'Receiving'. I call it Detaching. No matter which word resonates with you though, letting go of 'how' something will materialize is not always easy. Why? Because we're attached. We don't like to give up control. We don't always trust The Universe to deliver. We think we can do it better. So we stay involved, working to make things happen - and we windAFF up working ourselves right out of having what we want.

So how do you detach? Basically, you do the opposite of the previous paragraph. You give up control. You trust The Universe will deliver. In effect, this is your one chance to go to the sidelines and catch your breath. Once Law of Attraction presents you with what you want, you'll have plenty of time to get back in the game. A little relaxing goes a long way here!

Your only 'job' in the detachment stage is to continue monitoring your feelings - and to continue feeling good - about everything you're grateful for, everything you're in the process of creating, and everything that's already on its way to you. (in the manner The Universe knows best for you!)

When you're attached, you erect a wall which blocks the natural flow of things. When you successfully detach, the wall breaks down, and the river of life can once again take over. Everything you desire is then able to flow towards you. And remember, life is all about energy and flow.

So here's your simple formula for manifesting what you desire: Want, believe, detach. Then keep your senses wide open, and watch the magic happen!

Until next time...

With love,

-Jeff
