Prayer and The Law of Attraction

I know you've heard that you can have, do, or be anything you want -- if B68you just know the secret. I know it can be frustrating hearing that over and over, all the while thinking that it's just not working for you. This idea of focusing your thoughts to "vote" on what you get in the future is not new; most people call it, "prayer." Don't let the terminology throw you; whether you call it, "prayer," "the Law of Attraction," "wishing," "dreaming," or whatever, the bottom line is that we all think about the things we want until we experience some version of them. And the "thinking" part is the key element in bringing our desires into our experience.

Consider these statements about prayer:

  • Prayer is a mental activity -- something you do "in your head," or with your thoughts.
  • Prayer is something we are taught to do, or learn to do; but even before that, we think about our desires and do what we can to make them known to the world so we can have them fulfilled.
  • Prayer is something we do; as such, if you aren't getting the results you want, if you aren't happy, etc, you can do more, do differently, or learn to do "better," or pray more effectively by way of deeper understanding.

Prayer is thinking -- a specific kind of thinking about something you wish to experience in some way. The Law of Attraction posits that if you think of a thing, you will resonate with it and attract it into your experience; and some version of this concept is fundamental to every religion and philosophy on the planet. The idea that, "As a man thinketh, so it is done unto him," or, "Man is formed and molded by his thoughts," has been taught by all great spiritual and religious teachers, prophets, healers, and icons. Place your attention perfectly on your desire, and "it will be done to you according to your belief." Prayer is not a "religious thing;" prayer is a "mental-thing" common to all religions -- and used, in one way or another, by all living things.

"Whatsoever you desire, when you stand in prayer, believing, it will be given to you." ~Jesus of Nazareth

If you aren't happy, it isn't because prayer, or the Law of Attraction, or Luck, or whatever you think is the source of your good fortune, has dried-up, or turned its back on you. Consider that people make careers studying the human mind and the mental processes that result in success and health and happiness; then, ask yourself how much you really know about how your own mind works -- not your brain, but the mind with which you are praying. No matter how well you know it, you can always know more; and, the more you know, the better you will be able to use it. No matter what you wish to attract into your experience, focused thought, or prayer, or intense imagining -- coupled with an intense feeling of faith and gratitude -- is the most effective way to align yourself with, and attract, that which you desire.

"Prayer is not an old woman's idle 4EDamusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action." ~Mohandas Gandhi
