The Top 10 Habits of Organized People

Have you ever wondered how some people seem to have it all together all the time, while you struggle with deadlines, misplace items, and run late for appointments? Are you interested in learning the secrets to their organizing success? If so, implement the following strategies and you too will experience the joy of more focus, time and success.

1. Assign a place to keep all of your belongings.

Isnt it interesting that we never misplace our car (except in a big parking lot). Its because weve chosen to designate a space for it the garage. Allocate a room and a specific drawer, shelf, basket, or other container for each kind of possession. Keep like things together and store each type of item closest to the place where you will be using it.

2. Design processes to manage paper flow.

We have more information delivered to us on a daily basis than ever before so it is imperative that you set up systems to touch paper once and keep each type of document where you know you will be able to find it. For example: When at home, collect your mail from the mailbox and immediately toss the junk, place all invoices in a special container (throw away any promotional material included with the invoice), file important documents right away, and place magazines into their own container (be sure to pitch the oldest issue).

3. Know how long to keep important papers.

Educate yourself using the guide at the following web address to determine what to keep and for how long. Then shred all unnecessary documents. http://www.oprah.com/foodhome/home/housekeeping/print/home_print_200409_chart.jhtml

4. Regularly, dispose of items that are broken, torn, stained, or havent been used for a period of time.

Purging items that have lost their usefulness will make it easier to find what you want when you want it plus, give you room to store new items should you purchase more. You can toss items, sell them, or donate them to your favorite charitable organization.

5. Put each item away as soon as you are through using it.

Avoid the mentalityIll set this down for now, its just temporary. All too often, temporary turns into days, days turn into months and soon youll have a mountain of stuff to sort through. You have a choicea minute now or hours later.

6. Use a calendar.

A calendar is a great tool if you use it consistently. For instance, its harder to overbook yourself when you only have 24 hours per day on your calendar. More importantly it requires that you make choicesyou cant do it all and be successful. Try this strategy:

  • Make a list of all your goals. Put them in PRIORITY order, from most important to least important.
  • Estimate how much time it will take to complete each goal.
  • Fill in the current month of your calendar with your PRIORITY goals. (For example: work 8 - 5, Monday through Friday; family time 11 - 3, Sunday; personal development 7 8, Tuesday and Wednesday; gym 5:30 6:30, Monday through Thursday; etc.)
  • If there is still space in your calendar, record more goals from your list.
  • When your calendar is full, look at the goals left on your list and decide if you can delegate or dismiss them, if not, record them on successive months of your calendar. This will keep you from feeling guilty as you have assigned a time and place to tackle these other things and you dont have to worry about forgetting them.

7. Only buy new items when you have sufficient space to display them, store them, or you are prepared to let something else go.

Its false economics for you to keep buying more stuff if you cant see, easily access, or enjoy it.

8. Say, No thank you to family and friends who want to give you their excess.

If your parents or friends are downsizing or moving and offer to give you a number of household items, dont take them into your home unless you love them and will use them immediately.

9. Organize everything in your life.

Organizing isnt a one time task, its a habit. You will reap the greatest rewards if you organize everything in your grasp: your space, your time, your projects, your briefcase, your calls, your errands, your purse, your computer, your play time, etc.

10. Adjust your organizing system for new and changing circumstances.

You would make adjustments in your life if you lost your job. The same is required of your organizational system if your circumstances change. Adjust for a new baby, new projects, another hobby, loss of an assistant, or a dependent leaving the nest.

Your environment isnt just any ole space. Its your safe place, creative place, productivity place, and the place that reflects what you value most and supports your interests and lifestyle. Honor it, organize it, give it the attention it deserves and you will be amazed with the results.

Mind Tricks - Six Easy Ones

Many mind tricks are more than just tricks. They are creative techniques for tapping into the power of your mind. They entertain, but they also have more practical uses. A good example is the "pupil trick."

Look in the mirror and watch your eyes as you vividly imagine something pleasurable. It can be a beautiful scene, your favorite naked body, or anything else that will create desire in you. You'll notice your pupils getting larger almost immediately. If you practice a bit, you can make your pupils instantly larger at will.

Pupils enlarge when you are aroused, interested and receptive. When you are with someone and your pupils dilate, the person you are talking to subconsciously senses your interest in them or what they are saying, and they like that. This makes it easier for them to like you, and to listen to what you suggest. You don't have to be a salesman to take advantage of this. Once you learn to control your pupil size, why not try this subliminal mind trick?

A Mental Math Trick

As a young boy in school, I didn't "show my work" in math class. In my figuring, 97 x 16 became 100 x 16 (1600) minus 3 x 16 (48). It was easier that way, and almost automatic, so I would just write down 1552 even though I couldn't explain very well how I arrived at the answer. For my teachers this was a problem, but many years later such math shortcuts were sold in seminars and books. You might want to learn a few of your own.

A Memory Trick

Suppose you need to remember the following list: Soap, milk, honey, fork, and flowers. Just start a vivid story in your imagination, adding items to it as you go: At the sink, reach for the SOAP, and find the soap dish full of MILK. Wash your hands with that, and then comb HONEY into your hair with a FORK. Finally, pick up a bouquet of FLOWERS and smile at the mirror. Repeat each item while mentally reviewing your "movie," and you'll remember all five things, even the next day.

Mind Tricks For Motivation

To get yourself motivated, talk about your plans. This is a simple, yet powerful mind trick. By the time I tell my wife about the newsletter I'm going to write, I'm out of my slump and back at the keyboard. You can quickly change your state of mind, but not by willing it to change. That would be like trying to ride a bicycle without pedaling. There is a mechanical aspect to the mind that can't be ignored. That is what these techniques tap into.

To help a friend out of a bad mood, get them to talk. More specifically, get your friend to explain something to you that they are passionate about. The process literally will change the chemicals in their brain, and so change their state of mind. When you find the topics that work best, remember them for future use.

A Reading Trick

I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid. Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer inwaht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? yaeh and I awlyas thought slpeling was ipmorantt.

A subscriber to my Brainpower Newsletter sent me that one. A more useful speed-reading "trick," is to read just the first and last sentences of paragraphs. That's where the most useful information usually is, as in the last sentence of this paragraph: Mind power comes from practice, not desire, so why not try these mind tricks?

Choosing Hairstyles According to your Face Shape and Personality

When you begin to search for that perfect long hairstyle, medium hairstyle or short hairstyle that will compliment your features you will first have to decide what shape your face is, the type of hair you now have, and of course your own unique personality. If you only go by the shape of your face and ignore your own personality then you may not be very happy with the outcome.

The basic face shapes include oval, rectangular or oblong, round, square, heart, triangular and diamond. To determine what your face shape is you will need to first measure your face crosswise the top of your cheekbones, next measure your jaw line from the fullest point to the fullest point crosswise, next measure your forehead crosswise, and last measure from your hairline to the bottom of your chin. Remember to write down each measurement as you go.

You should be able to tell with these measurements, which shape face you have. Now, on to deciding which hairstyle looks the best with your face shape.

An oval face shape gives you the opportunity to wear practically any hairstyle from long hairstyles to medium hairstyles to short hairstyles. Now this is where your personality kicks in. According to the activities that you enjoy you may wish to wear your hair shorter instead of pulling it back to enjoy participating in sports or keeping your hair out of the way for most activities. To get an example of celebrities with oval shape faces and the variety of hairstyles that look great on them take a look at Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Mariah Carey.

If your face shape is rectangular or oblong your best bet would be short hairstyles or medium hairstyles. Bangs will do wonders for giving your face a softer and more gentler look. Celebrities with rectangular faces include Kirstie Alley, Stephanie Seymour and Janet Jackson.

A round face should wear short hairstyles that sweep back away from the face, adds more fullness and height at the crown. Kate Winslet, Christina Ricci, and Drew Barrymore all have round faces and look great with a variety of hairstyles.

Square face shapes should wear short hairstyles to medium hairstyles and should stay away from straight long hairstyles. Celebrities with square shape faces include Demi Moore, Sandra Bullock and Holly Marie Combs.

Heart shape faces should wear hairstyles that are either chin length or long hairstyles and short hairstyles should be avoided. Michelle Pfeiffer, Lucy Lawless, and Claudia Schiffer all belong in the heart shape face club.

If you have a triangular shape face then this is the exact opposite of the heart shape face. You should wear short hairstyles. Kathy Ireland is a great example of a celebrity with a triangular shaped face.

The diamond shape face is as great to have as an oval. You can wear short hairstyles, medium hairstyles and long hairstyles and look absolutely gorgeous. Examples of this include celebrities such as Sophia Loren, Katherine Hepburn, and Linda Evangelista.

Natalie Aranda writes about health and beauty. Women have the desire to have their hair looking gorgeous each and every day and that is why female consumers spend billions of dollars each year buying hairstyling products. When you begin to search for that perfect long hairstyles, medium hairstyles or short hairstyles that will compliment your features you will first have to decide what shape your face is, the type of hair you now have, and of course your own unique personality.

Create High Energetic Frequencies With Sacred Geometry Mandala Art

Uncover your truest, deepest, most peaceful self the self that innately recognizes and responds to the power of Sacred Geometry.

Your deepest self responds to Sacred Geometry and knows its healing power.

My name is Nicolaas Maritz, and Im here to offer you that power.

I offer two services:

First, I create Sacred Geometry art. These are copper and crystal healing art sculptures based on Sacred Geometry patterns, and unusual photo prints of those sculptures. I add a unique element to the prints to enhance their effectiveness, one that you will not find in other Sacred Geometry art. But more about that later . . .

Second, I offer spiritual life coaching, using the power of Sacred Geometry to help you transcend your ego and find true peace and deep joy.

Why Sacred Geometry?

Viewing Sacred Geometry healing art raises your vibration, enhancing your awareness that you create your reality, while helping you create a better reality. But many techniques make this claim. Why is Sacred Geometry different?

Youve probably heard about right brain and left brain. The right brain is said to be creative, while the left brain is logical.

When you meditate, use Law of Attraction techniques, or other metaphysical techniques, youre using your right brain but not your left. During a metaphysical experience, your right brain can clearly understand how beneficial these techniques are, while your left brain isnt paying much attention.

Later, when you rely on your memory of the metaphysical experience, your logical left brain kicks in and tells you it was merely pleasant. If only it had been more involved in the experience, your left brain might not be so skeptical!

As a result, you minimize the power of the experience. This hampers its effectiveness and lessens your commitment to continue.

You can harmonize your left and right brain.

Sacred Geometry, with its lines and angles, involves the left brain as well as the right. This whole-brain involvement causes you to more deeply integrate this spiritual technique. This makes it more effective than other techniques as well as a wonderful enhancement to those other techniques.

My photography method takes this a step further.

My healing art prints are photos of my sculptures. But they are no ordinary photos!

First, the copper sculptures themselves contain high energetic frequencies, partly because they are created as Sacred Geometry patterns and partly because copper is a superconductive metal. I often add clear quartz crystals, which also carry a high frequency.

I photograph the sculptures in the dark. These photos capture the frequency of the light waves.

I then use software to turn the photos into stereograms (3D images), and I saturate them with color, as each color contains a frequency that corresponds to one of the seven main chakras.

Because the images are stereograms, when viewed through 3D glasses*, they further stimulate both sides of the brain as your eyes work together to make sense of the image. Each eye corresponds to the opposite side of your brain (i.e., information from the right eye goes to the left brain and vice versa).

This causes an even deeper integration of the two sides of the brain.

For best effect, you should meditate on your print for 10 to 15 minutes each day. This can be done with or without 3D glasses.

Nicolaas Maritz describes himself as a metaphysical artist, whose work represents a geometric visual interpretation of the Aquarian age. The Age of Aquarius represents a time of spiritual evolvement of self. My art explores an altered state of consciousness journey through time and space that transform energy into substance as the inner self aligned from being unconscious to conscious.

With a spiritual evolvement in mind Nicolaas creates Sacred Geometry sculptures that explore a metaphysical cosmic energy. When I create these sculptures I undergo an emotional healing and my soul transcends time and space.

Nicolaas lives in the Cradle of Humankind near Kromdraai, a world heritage site in South Africa and a place where the oldest human DNA on the planet has been found.

Living here in relative isolation I have been inspired to create a visual and energy interpretation that explores moments of Transformation in consciousness.
